Anna is a well-known ceramicist in Athens, and has been known for her ceramic sculptural dolls. During the height of the Greek economic crisis, 2012-2013, the artist was unable to afford the clay required for her larger pieces, and used what she had on hand to create these small ceramic 'drawings' to maintain her studio. Using her favorite material and iconic childlike expression, the ceramic canvases approximately 2” x 2” with irregular thickness, maintain the artist's narrative style and charm. Anna aspires for her work to evoke pleasant childhood memories, iconography of youthful happy moments. Her work is part of prestigious collections around the world. The artist lives and works in central Athens, Greece.

Made using traditional glazing methods with Greek clay fired at very high temperatures.
